How to clean your commercial carpet.

This is a fairly popular topic of discussion in the carpet world, questions such as "how many times should I vacuum and clean my commercial carpet" and "what's the best method for cleaning my commercial carpet" or "what kind of maintenance does my commercial carpet need" have all been posed a multitude of times, now we are going to inform you about how to maintain your carpet looking its best.
There is no debate that one should vacuum their carpets at least once a week. Considering that we encounter dirt, dust and other unwanted particles from our air conditioning systems and from our parking lots. Thus making it that much more important that we vacuum to lift up those dust and dirt particles that enter inside our offices. When it comes to allergy season we are surrounded by pollen. Plus, by vacuuming regularly you're also doing yourself the favor by keeping your carpets that much cleaner.

Now, when it comes to cleaning print dyed carpet and carpet tiles  our best recommendation is to go with the dry cleaning method. Carpet tiles are individual squares which are glued to the floor, a steam clean would be detrimental to the glue holding the tiles to the floor. What happens as a result of a steam clean with carpet tiles is, the water from the steam works its way into the seams in between the carpet tiles resulting in the degradation of the carpet tile glue. A major benefit to dry cleaning your commercial carpets is the drying time. The dry cleaning method calls for using your chemical of choice, of which will destroy any soil it comes in contact with and the carpets will be ready for use almost instantly!

On the other hand, the steam cleaning method can be handy for your typical broadloom, wall-to-wall solution dyed nylon and olefin carpets . The reason being, the method is a stronger, the detergent and  pressure work wonderfully on dirty carpets, and lighter color carpets. The drying time is usually 24 hours without traffic to dry well and be ready to endure foot traffic.
Typically your commercial carpet should be cleaned every six months to a year; it all depends on how soiled your carpets are. How much traffic your carpet endures and how dirty the carpet looks.

We understand if you're not familiar with the varying levels of resistance various carpets provide, it can be very confusing. Which is why we decided it was time to provide you, our most valued customers, with an easy to read diagram explaining it all!

Spaces that only experience moderate to heavy foot traffic, such as offices, sleeping rooms, and administrative areas are better apt to select a loop pile carpet. Whereas, areas such as some corridors, conference rooms, open offices, entryways and area where large numbers of people congregate are considered to have severe traffic thus calling for  carpet tiles. Along those same lines, when it comes to extreme traffic in areas such as airports buses and train stations it's best to implement carpet tiles due to the extreme foot traffic the area will be enduring on a daily basis.

It's detrimental to select the correct carpeting for your businesses space. In the unfortunate case that you select a carpet that cannot withstand the about of traffic that it would be receiving you're ultimately throwing away money on an investment that will last you only a short few years instead of the intended decade or more!

The beautiful thing about getting educated on what flooring is most appropriate for your commercial flooring needs is that you will now be able to apply this newly found knowledge and apply it to both future commercial projects and your residential needs!
 A great loop pile example!

and here is my favorite carpet tile example.

It's time to revamp your space!

So it's the end of March and you're sitting there thinking to yourself, "man I really would love to bring some new life into this room" but the question is always- how? Well of course you have a plethora of options. There is always the option of painting the walls, maybe re-arranging the furniture, or my favorite, adding a new stylish  rug!

By adding a new color to your walls, it not only gives you the liberty to change the entire color scheme of the room but it gives the room an entirely new feel! Say that now you have plain white walls and you've decided enough is enough and it's time to bring some life to that room. My choice is to always go with a fairly neutral color and then go with an accent wall. Accent walls give you the opportunity to open up artistically and add a dramatic color to the room.

Also, by searching through antique stores you're sure to find several interesting pieces. What's nice about antique pieces of furniture and knick-knacks, is the breath of personality they add to any room. Antiques ensure a unique and genuine piece that is likely to add a lovely contrast to any space and spark some conversation during any gathering. Personally I love antiques for the history that they carry with them, whenever I add a new antique to my apartment I feel that it carries a story of it's own! Even better, antique furniture is the greenest way to go when furniture shopping. Plus the furniture is likely to be in excellent condition and was probably handmade, so you know it's made to last.
